Terms of Service & Client Agreement

Welcome to Hanioo. By accessing our platform, utilizing our web portal or mobile applications, or engaging our linguists for on-demand or scheduled interpretation, you ("Client", "Organization", or "User") agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service.

Hanioo connects organizations, legal practitioners, medical systems, and multinational enterprises with certified, accredited independent language specialists across 250+ spoken languages and American Sign Language (ASL).

If you are executing this agreement on behalf of a company, hospital network, governmental entity, or other legal organization, you represent that you have the lawful authority to bind said entity to these terms.

All interpretation delivered through Hanioo strictly adheres to internationally recognized professional benchmarks:

On-Demand Cloud Interpretation (VRI / OPI)

On-demand remote sessions are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without prior appointment. Live telephone interpreters connect with an average speed under 30 seconds; Video Remote Interpretation connects in under 45 seconds for major commercial, medical, and ASL pairings.

Scheduled On-Site & Conference Assignments

For in-person legal proceedings, medical consultations, or multi-language international conventions with ISO 4043 soundproof booths, bookings must be confirmed in advance. Hanioo dispatches accredited linguists equipped with specialized domain credentials suited to the client's subject matter.

  Transparent Per-Minute Billing: Remote on-demand sessions (OPI/VRI) are calculated to the exact minute with zero minimum session penalties.

  24-Hour Notice for Scheduled Sessions: Confirmed on-site or scheduled remote assignments require at least 24 hours written notice for rescheduling or cancellation without penalty.

  Late Cancellation Terms: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled commencement time may be subject to standard minimum booking hours to compensate reserved linguists.

  Payment Terms: Invoices for approved corporate, municipal, and healthcare accounts are Net-30 unless alternative billing schedules are expressly agreed in writing.

Hanioo enforces enterprise-grade security and confidentiality standards across all communications:

Healthcare & HIPAA: All healthcare interpretation adheres strictly to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and HITECH requirements. Hanioo routinely enters into standard Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with hospitals and clinics. Protected Health Information (PHI) is never stored, sold, or retained.

Attorney-Client Privilege: All legal proceedings, client interviews, and arbitrations conducted through Hanioo retain sworn non-disclosure protections and complete attorney-client privilege.

Data Encryption: All audio and video streams transmitted over Hanioo VRI and OPI systems are secured with 256-bit AES encryption end-to-end.

The Client retains all right, title, and ownership interest in all source materials, privileged statements, confidential case documents, and verbatim linguistic records generated during interpretation sessions.

Hanioo and its licensors retain all proprietary rights, copyright, and trademarks regarding the Hanioo software platform, digital portal, design system, algorithms, APIs, and associated branding.

Hanioo delivers services with commercially reasonable diligence, skill, and expertise adhering to ASTM benchmarks. In no event shall Hanioo, its directors, or its affiliates be liable for indirect, punitive, or consequential damages resulting from third-party telecommunications network failures, acts of God, or client equipment malfunctions.

Total cumulative liability arising out of any specific engagement shall not exceed the total fees paid by the client for that designated session.

Hanioo reserves the right to update these Terms periodically to reflect evolving regulatory frameworks (such as GDPR updates or new healthcare standards). Continued engagement with our services following notice constitutes acceptance of updated provisions.
